    SFC, no errors.

    Cleared EA cache.

Performed clean boot. Got the message that EA background service had to be running so I started that.

Opened EA app again, black screen. Try View->Refresh Page several times and after a while get "The app couldn't connect to the servers" again.

I also tried disabling Microsoft Defender Firewall.

  • Fixed it.

I rolled back Windows 11 updates to an earlier version (21H2) and now EA app actually asks me for login info and opens.

  • No offense to Barry, but the level of support provided to the question is incredibly subpar, yet 100% EA.

This issue is reported all over these forums with some variant of ""The App couldn't connect to the servers" or a hanging black screen.

Here's what worked for me. Go into your Windows Start menu and navigate to the EA folder. There is a new option available when you expand the folder titled App Recovery. Launching that has remedied the issue for me when it occurs. Some mixture of Windows updates and EA app settings seem to not play well together.

Best of luck to the team working on the new app - seems to be a rough path, after forcing the transition. Who ever thought we'd miss the Origin app?! 🙂

  • I was playing jedi survivor through steam and the game crashed. I restarted the game and it hung with messed up audio upon reloading the game. I rebooted the PC. Then the game refused to launch. I narrowed the issue down to the EA app closing itself shortly after steam attempted to launch. I manually launched the EA app and had this blank screen issue. I tried everything above and multiple reinstalls. Nothing worked. Got pretty frustrated one crash turned into this whole ordeal. Then, I went into start, I found and ran the "EA app updater", which completed an update via command line. I then re-launched the EA app and it let me login. Now everything seems to be working again, so try that!

TL;DR - My fix: Run "EA app Updater" before launching the EA app.

  • I spent almost a week trying to fix this on my machine. After trying most of the recommended "fixes" with no luck, I found a suggestion on which process might be interfering in a different site. Try going into Task Manager and stopping the Device Association Framework Provider Host. Once I did this, it not only solved a problem I was having with Task Manager working properly, but the EA app suddenly started working and I was finally able to start playing Jedi Survivor.

Obviously I can't promise this will work in all instances, but it definitely worked for me.
