EA App closes after 5 minutes

I am having a recurring issue with the EA app closing after approximately 5 minutes. This causes games that I start to then close also and downloads for other games just not working.

I have tried the following:-

  1. Admin permissions
  2. Clearing cache through app recovery (why this is even a separate thing speaks to how this appears to be a known bug and requires a separate tool to fix rather than actually fixing the cause);
  3. Background service set to autostart
  4. manually deleting the cache folders
  5. Turning off in-game overlay

I have not found any other possible solutions so I will now try a re-install.

Anyone else got any solutions?

    No solutions here, but I want to report that I've had the same problem. I've been trying to play Battlefield 6, but the game crashes without warning before long, so I don't have much time in the game before crashing. While running a game repair, the app would randomly shut down, although when reopening the app I didn't lose my scanning or download progress.

    I tried uninstalling and immediately reinstalling the EA app, and I got the same result.

    Just now I've tried other EA games which I've had installed - Star Wars: Battlefront II, Battlefield 2042, and Medal of Honor: Warfighter, but they have the same problem of shutting down after a few minutes. Interestingly, Battlefront and Medal of Honor both had pop-ups saying that the Origin client was shutting down, so there is definitely something going on with the EA app.
