If the EA app works fine with a VPN but not on your regular connection, it usually means there’s something wrong with how your network or ISP is connecting to EA’s servers, not a problem with the app itself. A VPN can sometimes solve these issues, but you definitely shouldn’t have to use one just to play.
You’ve already done a lot of troubleshooting, but if you haven’t tried these quick checks, they can sometimes help:
- Restart your router and modem.
- Try a wired (Ethernet) connection if you can.
- Make sure your firewall or security software isn’t blocking the EA app.
- See if things work better on a different network, like a mobile hotspot.
Since this looks like a network issue outside of EA’s control, your best bet might be to check in with your internet provider to see if they can help.
