I've tried literally every solution I found on the internet - nothing helps. Both EA app and the sims 4 game crashes on launch. At most I managed to reach the login screen but no matter of options I have chosen (like to stay logged in or not) it always crashes after that. It was working fine like 3 weeks ago, I didn't make any changes in my computer since then. I'm not interested in playing offline because I have a DLC I want to install
CM thread update
CM updated reply:
After several days of troubleshooting, I found a partial workaround for launching The Sims 4 when the EA app keeps crashing. It is inconvenient and does not fully solve the problem, but it may help others play the game in offline mode.
I used the tutorial in this thread to launch Origin and download the additional Sims 4 DLC I wanted:
https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion/I-m-still-using-Origin/td-p/12379204/page/2
Unfortunately, the installed Sims 4 files appeared to differ between Origin and the EA app. Origin therefore had to repair and redownload the entire game, including all installed DLC. This took several hours.
After the repair finished, The Sims 4 would not launch through Origin or directly from the game executable.
This is the workaround that eventually let me play:
- I removed the locally stored EA app account data from my PC.
- I opened the EA app and entered my login details again.
- I selected the option to keep me signed in.
- The EA app crashed again, as it had before.
- I disconnected my PC from the internet.
- I launched The Sims 4 directly from its main executable file.
- The game attempted to open the EA app, but the app could not connect without internet access.
- I was then allowed to launch and play The Sims 4 in offline mode.
This is not a complete fix for the EA app crashing issue. Online features such as the Sims 4 Gallery are unavailable, but the workaround may allow affected players to access their game and installed DLC while offline.Hopefully, this helps someone at least partially enjoy the game until a proper solution is available.
