[EA app] Error Code 62-9A72 EA App Installation "Something Went Wrong"

So I was trying to boot up Mass Effect a couple of days ago to play for a bit when I realized it was having trouble keeping the EA app open without crashing shortly after. I figured it probably needed some repairs, so I repaired the app but was still met with the app crashing shortly after opening it. I decided to try uninstalling and reinstalling, thinking a fresh download might help. Only now, the app installer wouldn't even get past the download phase.

This led to me trying a variety of solutions I found from people having similar issues to me. The only problem is that the code "62-9A72" seems to be unique, in that no one seems to have had this error code pop up. I've tried clearing the cache, making sure the firewall wasn't blocking it, repaired the C++, ran the installer as admin, and ran the program in compatibility mode for Windows 8. Sadly, every attempt at fixing it resulted in the same prompt to pop up "Something Went Wrong" and the error code 62-9A72 being displayed. I have no idea how to fix this and, while the EA chat support was patient and supportive, they couldn't find a solution for me by the end of the night and told me to post on a related forum so someone could reach out to me.

I decided to create a new topic specifically regarding this error code however, as I can't be the only person who has or will encounter this error. Hopefully this gets resolved and anyone else who has this issue can come here to get a fix for the issue. Any help that leads to resolving the issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    I figured it out and I can't believe it was this simple all along! My antivirus has been reading wrong (text was changed to Latin for some reason) and when I inquired about the reason, they recommended I download a language pack and sign out to officiate the change. The pathway is:

    Settings > Time & Language > Language & Region > Preferred Languages > Add a Language

    I downloaded and applied Canadian English and in fixing the reading error with my AV, it allowed the app to download. Thank you for your assistance!

    @Casual_Quarian Hey! So, this was a good one as I don't see much on it.

    I do see this thread but past that not much. This error typically indicates an issue with the connection between your device and the EA servers which is generic so it could be a list of reasons why it isn't connecting.

    There are the standard steps

    1. Check EA Server Status
    2. Restart your computer or console.
    3. Update the EA App
    4. Clear Cache
    Clearing the cache can help resolve various issues with the EA app.

    5. Check Your Internet Connection
    Restart your router or modem.
    Try using a wired connection instead of Wi-Fi if possible.
    6. Disable Firewall/Antivirus Temporarily
    If it works, add the EA app to the list of exceptions in your firewall/antivirus settings.
    7. Reinstall the EA App.

    Then you have more technical steps

    So I had to wait a few hours to try everything, but I have done everything on that list. The only thing I haven't done is change the UAC which, with the link provided leads to instructions for Windows 7 & 8, makes me question the reliability of the solution's potential. The problem still persists and and, while the firewall and Static IP troubleshooting helped make it so the download bar moves, the same error ultimately pops up at the end. But I appreciate the wide list of options and hopefully they will work out for someone else. That being said, I am still looking for a solution and will greatly appreciate the assistance!

    @Casual_Quarian So the UAC acts like a firewall for Windows. Every time you install, load a program, or make a certain action that alters a program, Windows pops up a message asking are you sure?

    Disabling that changes Windows asking you for permission and just performs the action you are choosing like installing a game.

    1. Click Start
    2. Type UAC in the search box
    3. Click Change User Account Control settings
    4. Drag the slider down to Never notify
    5. Click OK
    6. Select Yes or Allow again in the User Account Control window
    7. Restart the computer 
       

    By your message, it sounds like a program on there, or Windows admin is blocking the program from running. This could be something on the ISP side or the PC side. Changing IP addresses, and altering the Firewall means that the game or program is being halted by some setting.

    Oh, thank you for that bit of information. I went ahead and restarted my pc after changing the UAC, but still had the error pop up. I've tried deleting the antivirus software I normally use and turned off the Windows Firewall, and had the issue persist. I have also created a static IP for myself as one of the previous solutions called for it and am no longer using the automatic IP setting. You mentioned the problem might stem from the ISP. How should I go about addressing that to them, or what aspect should I bring up that would clue them into the problem?

    WOW! The language changed and caused this. I would have honestly never guessed to check that out. I am happy to see that worked for you though with the language pack. That is good info to know.

    I have been trying to fix this issue for a couple of weeks and could not for the life of me figure it out.

    Had the same issue with Bitdefender showing "Lorem ipsum" text, and I was not able to install certain apps (Like EA App) or launch others (Farming Simulator 22, TrackIR).
    I simply removed my English US language pack and signed out of my windows account, and all the problems I have been having are gone.
