EA App failing to launch game, and crashing or black-screen

Summarize your bug Downloadied and installed the EA App because I purchased an EA game on Steam and it required Origin or EA App. The game was Mass Effect Legendary. For me everything was working fine a day ago - I had 30 hours logged. Nothing had changed. Now when I try and start the game it tries to start EA App and then closes it, and gives up. If I log into the the EA App first and then try and launch it, it asks me to log in again, and then says "Something went wrong ... There is a problem with your account". But if I log into EA App without running the game I can log in just fine! So my account is just fine! The error message is not always there. Sometimes it just goes to black screen. Tried launching from within the app, and also from Steam. Neither works. Note that is was working purfectly fine launching from Steam (auto launched EA-App) until last night. I will note that many others on the Steam discussion board were having similar problems last night. But the problem persists. I tried re-installing the EA App after wiping it completely, including cache and reg entries. Even tried the old origin app, it didn't work either. The thing is it was running perfectly fine yesterday morning. Nothing has changed with my network, firewall, etc. Very sad right now since I have 30 hours logged on the game and now I can't refund it and can't use it.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have Steam and EA App installed.on PC. Create EA/Origin account. Install EA Game from Steam (Mass Effect Legendary) Make sure network is good and Windows Firewall is not blocking. Try to launch the game in one of the following ways: - Attempt to launch game from Steam (this should auto-launch EA App, and it attempts to do so, but fails) - Attempt to open EA App and then launch game from Steam - this asks for another login into EA App, and then fails with error message or black screen - Attempt to launch from within EA App - sometimes this does nothing, or it goes to a black screen, or it crashes the App and asks to restart (which goes to black screen).

What do you expect to see? Should have launched the game. It was working fine for a couple of days. Although it has been buggy before. Now it is totally unusable.

Things I tried to do ...
- Re-validate local files in Steam (validated ok and made no difference)
- Complete re-install of EA-App. Made sure I wiped cache before re-install
- Made exceptions in for all exe files in Windows Defender so AV would not block access anywhere
- Launched with and without admin priv.
- Attempted launch from within Steam as well as from EA App
None of the aove have worked. Cannot launch.
Note that when it was previously working, I would launch from Steam and it would auto launch the EA App. This worked ok, for a while. Then without any changes on my end it stopped working.
Well I found a fix. If I set the EADesktop exe to run as admin (not the launcher but hte desktop app), it works. Looks like there was a permission issue for EADesktop to launch the game exe. So fixed for this one. Until I find the next EA screwup.
