ea app for mac crashing

since forced to switch from origin to the ea for mac app it crashes every time I attempt to open it to play sims 4 it says "we ran into an unexpected problem but a quick restart should fix it" and restarting it does nothing but restart the crashing process. I cant even try to clear my cache because the app won't open in the first place.
