EA App Freezes PC on Login Splash page

I recently built a new PC and downloaded the EA app to play my games, but when I go to the log in splash screen it freezes the entire computer as I am trying to login. I cannot close any apps, but I ...

Some troubleshooting steps: 

  1. Download and install all available Windows Updates
  2. Turn off the EA app overlay via the three bar menu at top left, Settings, Application, In-game overlay
  3. Clear the EA app cache: https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/
  4. Run System File Checker to help ensure the integrity of your Windows System files: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833
  5. Perform a clean boot before starting: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 or http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/
