EA App Install Error - INST-14-1618

    My solution to INST-14-1618 was to go to Task Manager and end task 'Windows Installer', then run EAappinstaller.exe as 'admin'. Apparently EAappinstaller calls Windows Installer but detected that it was already in use. Ba-da-bing it worked. Hope it works for you.

Hey, all

Thanks to @Rigel454 for the steps. listing them here so more players can see them.

  • Open Task Manager by right-clicking on the taskbar and selecting Task Manager
  • Under Processes locate 'Windows Installer', and end the task
  • Locate the EAappinstaller.exe which should be located at C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop
  • Right-click and Run as 'admin'.
  • Log back in and test

Man thank you this worked for me.... been trying for hours, I don't know why it is so hard for people to just give a step-by-step guide it's like pulling teeth lol
