EA App install fail

In terms of fixes I've tried, none of which have worked:

• Cleared cache, problem persists
• Uninstalled Origin completely (yes, the hard way), tried again and problem persists
• Did a clean boot, tried again and problem persists
• Ran DISM (came back clean) and scannow (found some errors and repaired them) but EA app install problem persists and still get the same message

All of the above does't fix it. Have tried EA help and have logged as a problem but they've, unsurprisingly, been unable to help so far.

Any further suggestions greatly appreciated.

Running Windows 10 Home (64-bit) on an i9-9900K @3.6GHz Z390 AORUS with 32GB RAM and an RTX2080 Ti

Also updated and repaired the C++ files (not that I thought they needed it but did so anyway), has made no difference.

Also disabled Malwarebytes and Windows Defender, which also made no difference. Added EA app installer as an exception, made no difference.

Running out of options...

The EA app encountered an error and couldn't finish installing.

Been a week now and no progress on fixing the problem. Still 3 or 4 emails from EA Help each day, each as useless as the next. They acknowledge that I am having problems installing the EA app but send, as they did just now, a troubleshooting guide called:

“”Games that won't download, install, or load in the EA app”

which is completely irrelevant and has nothing to do with the EA app not installing. Just like the connectivity troubleshooting guide they sent. I mean, what is the point of EA Help? Really?

Last email from EA Help I received this morning asks me to “elaborate on my problem”…..

How does one even respond to this?

Now at the point where I know EA Help can’t do anything (yes, it took me this long, I can’t explain why. Misguided? Naive? Insane?). Obviously each time you reply back they don’t see any history of what’s been sent and replied, etc. they just guess and send you random troubleshooting guides. They’re now back to where I started. 

The email I received before that said, “ I see that you are having problems installing the EA app” and then sends me the troubleshooting guide for when games won’t download. Totally useless.

Will try here for a couple more days to see if anyone can kindly suggest a possible solution.

Having the same issue! Riduclous as I was fully able to play games on Origin and they have just forced me to this app that wont install. 

I have tried your MSI solution but I am getting an error ' verify you have sufficient privileges to install system services ' any help?

I'm also having this problem.  Origin stopped working for me today: 

I tried installing the ea play app, but it fails to uninstall origin.

Uninstalling via standard windows uninstaller does nothing.  Using the origin uninstall application yields the same error message.


Attempting the solution in reply #8 (ea desktop install wizard) tells me that a service is unable to start:

I'll continue to try different options, but this is tedious.  I just want to play my games!

have the same * problem, can you fix it?
