EA App keeps displays on _ALWAYS_

I mainly thought I'd warn users that the EA app sets a wakelock extremely aggressively to the detriment of users. I'm not expecting EA to attempt to service its users on this dying store.

If your monitor stays on more than it should its quite likely because of the EA app. If you wish to avoid this either close the EA app dilligently or disable the Accessibility option "Enable autoplay" (allow background videos on game hubs to play automatically), I suspect this is on by default to maximize harm. When this setting is enabled EA decided that your display should never sleep regardless of how active you are at your PC if it's actually doing anything, if the screen is locked. Nothing matters. Unless this setting is off or the EA app is killed the monitor will not go to sleep. If you have any monitor sensitive to burn-in like an OLED display you're going to expire it much faster than with regular use as it'll be resting with a static image most likely.

The command "powercfg -requests" allows users to inspect what's keeping their device awake on windows. Here's the powercfg command running on my PC with the EA app opened and minimized to the notification area and "Enable autoplay" on, with no video playing anywhere.

C:\Windows\system32>powercfg -requests
DISPLAY:
[PROCESS] \Device\HarddiskVolume8\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop\EADesktop.exe
Video Wake Lock

SYSTEM:None.

AWAYMODE:None.

EXECUTION:None.

PERFBOOST:None.

ACTIVELOCKSCREEN:None.

And I don't know of any user who would want their EA app to encourage burnin. Especially not without it being opt-in. Very few applications try to waste electricity and fill landfills in this way. Most videoplayers (like those in browsers) tend to have wakelocks tied to if a video is actually playing or not. But this is apparently not in EAs interest.
