Summarize your bug EA app will not recognize the EA play subscription that is included in the XBOX ultimate game pass.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? No clue, try and link an XBOX ultimate game pass account to an old already existing Origin-using account or something?
What happens when the bug occurs? I need to pay for a subscription that should be included in my other subscription
What do you expect to see? I expect to be recognised as an EA play member through my XBOX ultimate game pass sub and thus be able to install and play the EA play games.
Greetings, I have seen this before in multiple shapes and forms, but no solution present as far as I could see for this.
I have the XBOX app with XBOX Ultimate game pass. This should include EA play as well. When I click Install on a game from EA Play (Unravel Two in this case) it prompts me to install the EA app, despite me having Origin already, so I installed it and then link my old Origin EA account to the XBOX account that has the game pass.
After installing the EA app I get redirected to the store page for Unravel Two with the option to buy the game, or buy EA play to play it. Somehow the EA app does not recognize the XBOX Ultimate Game Pass I get sent in from.
The only solution to this I have read so far is "do you have the right EA account logged in". So I triple checked this. I have the right account in EA linked to the right account in the XBOX game pass. In fact the bottom right of the EA app even let's me "Import Friends" from the XBOX account, so it is clearly linked. However it will not recognize my Ultimate Game Pass subscription.
I have obviously tried a few things myself:
- Like I mentioned I triple checked and I am 100 % positive I have both the correct accounts logged in.
- I have uninstalled the EA app and for good measure the Origin app too and reinstalled only the EA app.
- I have rebooted the apps separately and the entire computer.
- I have cleared the cache from the EA app.
Long story short, nothing happens. I see the games I already owned in my library and even the two installed games (from Origin) in the EA app, but it will not see my XBOX ultimate game pass.
Needless to say it is quite a letdown that after all the trouble of linking accounts and what not it's still not working, so I sincerely hope there is a solution to this somehow.
