Try the following steps:
- Run System File Checker to help ensure the integrity of your Windows System files: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833
- Perform a clean boot before starting: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 or http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/
- Clear the EA app cache: https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/
- Turn off the EA app overlay via the three bar menu at top left, Settings, Application, In-game overlay
- Turn of any other overlay you may be using
- Temporarily disable your antivirus software

One helper from EA told me to get a new computer…. But why??
after a lot of Google is finally found out that I had to update my DirectX on my pc. Now the EA as launched and I can login -- 2 years ago
I have the most up to date direct X and still happens. I just reformatted my pc and updated everything. Still same problem.
Cant we just go back to origin? It was terrible also but atleast it worked sometimes!

Hoping your app has begun to work for you because that is a long time to go without your games. I use a software called driver reviver(its free). It will scan all of your drivers and update them for you(you update them individually in free version and if you buy it, it updates all drivers at once). It immediately fixed the black screen issue for me after updating a few outdated items. I don't know if this will work for everyone as from what I've read, ea app is pretty fragile... which definitely tracks lol Anyway, if this doesn't help, I'm sorry... but I'm hoping it does!!
