I was playing Sims 4 when I got a message saying that I needed to restart my EA app and had 24 hours to do so. I went to desktop to click on the app shortcut, only for it to say "The item 'EALauncher.exe' that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly. Do you want to delete this shortcut?" And the logo has also disappeared, replaced by a blank sheet with a folded corner.My game is still working fine, when I go back into the game I can play it without issue. I'm loath to save and exit, though, as I can't seem to access the EA App launcher at all!

Thanks all for the tips. Tried to download app, but it was on my machine (just not working). Tried to uninstall, said no can do. Finally I tried to install again and then got a repair option which solved my issues. The game finished updating the patch and seems normal again. But for a while I was in a catch-22 situation!

I had the exact problem. I just went to re-download the EA app from online, and there will be an option to repair once it sees the app on your computer. There seems to be no problem with my game save, and the EA app exists now.

@Lucy_Henley You should be able to go to the install folder for the EA App and right-click and copy or just move that to your desktop. This happens a lot with those icons in general with Windows. It has happened to me with Chrome and a few non-EA games I had pinned to the taskbar.

Nothings working.. for EA launcher fifa aint working for me now for well over a month and im getting no support form multi billion company and their "customer support" (lack of be better word) pure disappointment

i have done all troubleshooting you can mention to no avail been on live chats multiple times and wrote a forum too with no answer to why my game wont launch at all. I have verified game integrity and certificates and every troubleshoot that has been mentioned before. Now im being ignored but this massive company. No one seems want to help at all been on these forums well over a month almost now and no further forward. im so disappointed in EA and the "support" I have got

@Irinel7 When you launch the game and nothing happens, does the game show up in your task manager as running or does it not show? If it does not show something is blocking the program from launching. That can be a long list of things.

Do you get any errors?
Does the EA App/Steam show the game is running?
Do you get any errors that say this program is already running?

In order for us to assist players in any way, we need more information past nothing is working and steps that have been tried. We cannot guess at what players have and have not done on their end.

@EA_Shepard it always says games launced from another app but ive had this error for long long time. done any and all troubleshoot you can think on and the issue is in the ea app itself nothing to do with steam
