EA App suddenly stopped opening on Windows 11

Hi everyone,

About two days ago, the EA App suddenly stopped opening on my computer without any apparent reason. Until then, I was able to play my games normally, but now, when I try to launch the app, nothing happens — no error message, and the interface doesn’t show up.

What I’ve tried so far:
Ending all EA-related processes in Task Manager and trying again
Adding an exception in the antivirus and even disabling it
Running as administrator
Changing compatibility settings
Running EA App Recovery and EA App Update
Submitting a report using EA Error Reporter (I have the ticket ID)
Completely uninstalling and reinstalling the EA App
Rolling back the latest Windows updates

Still, the issue remains. Interestingly, the EA App appears as a running process in Task Manager, but the interface never loads. Even when trying to launch a game directly from its shortcut, neither the game nor the EA App starts.

Additional info:
Windows 11, version 24H2, build 26.100.3624
I work in IT and have technical knowledge, I’ve tried many solutions before reaching out here.
No system changes or suspicious installations occurred between the time it was working and when it stopped.

I honestly don’t know what else to do. If anyone has faced this issue or knows of a fix, I’d really appreciate your help!

  • I'm also having this problem, but I'm def not about to wipe my whole my PC just to play a handful of games, but again this is ridiculous. I've tried every solution, except for the other user one, but don't feel like doing that. lol. So just letting others know that this is a problem and hopefully EA finds a solution.

  • I’m having the same problem! Worked fine a couple weeks ago. I wonder if it’s a Windows Update.

    I dropped as much technical information as I could muster on a separate thread. I'm not super keen on reinstalling Windows for one chromium application to work.

    Hopefully this larger thread can get more attention. The error reporting app crashing is really indicative of an interconnected issue with whatever service EA app is trying to launch. (seeing as eadesktop always makes an error event when launching the error reporter ; they appear to be dependent).
