EA App update download not progressing, stuck at 0%

When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 31.05.2023 15:19 (ongoing)
Summarize your bug Stuck EA App update progress
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? EA App required an update. Forced restart and download, no progress was made for over 20 minutes.
What happens when the bug occurs? Update download is stuck at 0%.
What do you expect to see? Download to progress.

Things I tried:
- Running with no other apps like discord running in the background (works but gets stuck)
- Repairing Redist files in control panel (works but gets stuck)
- Uninstall app (throws an error)
- Continue with resets (EA App lands in a restart loop)

I plan on keeping it open for the night and will try to come back with some news next day if nothing progresses.

    @InessaMaximova Try the following

    Close the EA App, open task manager, and close the background services

    Delete Windows Temp Files

    • First, make sure you close as many programs as you can
    • Press the Windows key + R, go into the file explorer
    • Type in %temp%, and hit Enter
    • Delete everything it allows you to delete
    • Reboot the PC

    • Reboot the PC

    Run the EA Updater as admin and let it repair itself.

    Hi,

    This has not worked for me and my app still will not download the update (stuck at 0%).

    Is there anything else that can be done?

    Hi @ejaneb123, Can you close down the app, then right-click on it run as admin.

    Go into the settings, make sure you set the download rate to 20MB/s
    make sure the Application updates and Enable background services are enabled
    Pause the download, log out, log back in, and resume it again.

    This has not worked for me. I am still at 0% for days now. I have a MacBook Air.

    Mine doesn't even get past preparing for the update. It gets to a solid 21% and then just gives me an error. I've cleared the cache and everything.
