ea app updating

So, I am having trouble updating the EA app. It’s been stuck at 0% for about an hour. I tried resetting the app, but it still doesn’t work. I have plenty of storage on my Mac. What can I do? Once I tried reinstalling the app but I lost all of my save data. I also have a good internet connection.
