EA App Won't Launch Sims 3
For anyone currently able to open the Sims 3 launcher but not the game itself, if you have a 12th-gen or newer Intel processor, please see the accepted solution of this thread:
For EA App installs, apply the workaround of your choice to TS3.exe, without the W.
This issue applies to people who have never been able to launch Sims 3 on their computers and those who were previously able to play but have since repaired or reinstalled the game.
If you can't even open the launcher, please try the suggestion here:

If you've previously been able to play Sims 3 and now cannot, and the above doesn't apply to you, please move the entire Sims 3 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, then try again to play. Moving this folder will remove, but not delete, your saves and other user content. That content can be restored later, but the first question is whether the game works at all.
If this helps but you need further assistance restoring your data, please post in the appropriate Sims 3 forum, linked below.
For any other issue, please create a new thread in the Sims 3 PC or Mac tech forum, depending on your OS:

In either case, please post a screenshot of any error message you see when trying to play. For Windows users, please include a dxdiag as well:

For Mac users, please list the full specs of your Mac: everything under About This Mac including the OS and except for the serial number.
