EA Desktop App crashes upon launch

When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 10/11/20
Summarize your bug App crashes upon launch every time. Has been happening for 3 weeks now.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Just log in. Instantly crashes
What happens when the bug occurs? App closes and option to send crash report and restart/close the app
What do you expect to see? The app launch successfully. So far nope.

App has been consistently crashing since early to mid November. Worked great when it launched but with a few crashes here and there if you tried to do things too fast but now it flashes the main screen but before content is loaded in it crashes.

    any fix yet? i bought the xbox game pass ultimate so i could get ea play included and the app doesnt even work :/

    no fix as of yet. App is still broken and has been since mid november. I've been looking forward to playing some of them on my pc as well but guess that isn't happening :/ I've even tried uninstalling and reinstalling it and restarting my pc. Nada has helped. I guess it's just on the programming side of things.

    In the mean time, I suggest getting the game pass app for your phone. Android and iOS are supported. They dont have many EA play games on the cloud but there are like 7. Also I've read on other posts that December 15th will be when we can play EA Play games through the xbox app. Much better app than EAs

    Can now say that it launches just fine but it does not want to update or install anything. This thing is getting stubborn. lol.

    I fixed it I fixed it I fixed it!!!!! 

    Basically I messed up the whole app because you  know that is me and I made it worse by messing around with files. The app wouldn't open. So I had the idea of deleting the crash reporter (CrashReporter.exe and .enc) in the ea desktop file folder, which sounds stupid but now it cant tell the app to shut down so it loads as normal
