    I found it. its connected to a windows service:

    Windows key --> type in services --> click on the services app new windows opens --> click in it --> type "e" to navigate to the "EABackgroundService" --> right click --> properties --> change start type to "manually"

@codebluetm nowhere is there an option to “toggle off background services” in applications. id like to see photos, step by step or else... i call bs

@JessTheGae I had already attached a screenshot to the original post. Anyway, this was so long ago and I hadn't used EA Desktop for a long time now, it may have changed and I don't know about it.

      Are you serious? So there is still no way to stop this background service?

        Not that I have come across.

        Legit find it impossible to play SWBFII now. I now detest EA, no community support or spirit. 100% about the $'s. Be damned about care factor.
