EA Desktop Double Install Folder

(dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 01/10/2021 09:00Summarize your bug Why during the install process do you allow us to select an installation location, that then adds the EA Desktop folder within a EA Desktop folder, ie I selected install location as D:\ it showed the install location to be D:\EA Desktop, then after installation had completed, I navigate to that folder, and low and behold the install files have been put in D:\EA Desktop\EA Desktop, is there really a need for the second EA Desktop folder?How often does the bug occur? I have install a number of Game clients, even the Origin client did not have a double install folder. See attached.

The extra folder is there, because the install takes the folder you select, and adds 'EA Desktop' to the end of the Path, then adds an additional 'EA Desktop' to where it puts the files, instead of putting the files in the folder you selected.

It's not an issue as such, it more of a visual thing. From a personal perspective, it looks like un-necessary and clumsy.

The same happens when you install EA Desktop on the C:\ drive&nbsp;@PFindersDomain.

WHY the extra folder is in there, that I do not know, but I'm pretty sure that there is a logic behind it.

Any specific reason why you are raising this, as in it's causing issues, or just curious?

This is really annoying. Hope they will fix this as soon as possible.

In the meanwhile I have found a fix which worked for me:

Close EA Desktop App in Task Manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL)
Move the EA Desktop folder to the desired location.
Remove EABackgroundService in Windows Services:

Reboot PC.
Install a new EABackgroundService:
