Hi everyone,
I need some help with Battlefield 2042 which refuses to launch.
Whenever I try to start it from the EA App, I always get this error message:
“Unable to launch the game – An error on our part prevented it from launching. Please try again later.”
I’ve already tried many fixes but nothing worked.
Here’s what I’ve done so far:
• Installed the game via EA App (not Steam or EGS).
• Repaired game files from the EA App.
• Fully reinstalled EA App, EA Easy Anti-Cheat, and Battlefield 2042.
• Reinstalled the latest NVIDIA drivers for the RTX 3060.
• Set Run as Administrator for EA App, Easy Anti-Cheat, and BF2042.
• Restarted the PC after each step.
• Disabled NVIDIA overlay and EA App overlay.
• Cleared EA App cache manually.
• Uninstalled Omen Gaming Hub (HP software), but no change.
• Disabled antivirus → still no change.
⚠️ Important note: Battlefield V runs perfectly on the same system via EA App, no crashes or errors.
📌 My system:
• HP Victus 16 (Laptop)
• GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3060 (Laptop)
• CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800H
• RAM: 16 GB
• Windows 11 Home 64-bit
Has anyone experienced this exact error with Battlefield 2042?
Any other suggestions I could try?
Thanks in advance 🙏

Hi Matto1756
I'm Steeve, glad to be able to help you today.
The problem you're experiencing may be due to the NVIDIA driver.- I recommend installing version 577.0 (no other), available here → https://www.nvidia.com/fr-fr/drivers/
- After that you can repair EA Javelin anticheat here -> https://help.ea.com/en/articles/platforms/pc-ea-anticheat/
- Restart your PC and launch the gameLet me know ! 😃

Thanks a lot Steeve_BF. It worked, after installing driver version 577.0 the game finally runs. Do we know if NVIDIA is working on fixing this issue so that we don’t have to use ‘outdated’ drivers?

I'm glad your problem has been resolved. To answer your question, I sent a ticket to Nvidia and am currently waiting for a response, but I think EA will probably post an update regarding this issue, which affects many players. 😄
Have great game !

On AMD, disabling Anti Lag solved the problem! It worked for me, thank you!!

I don't even have the option(Tab) to "Go Back" to previous windows. Reverified integrity, cleared cache of steam and ea,, did the repair with anticheat, turned amd setting off per thread, ran as admin...

Found out just how to uninstall the last 2 Windows updates from last night. Uninstalled the 1st, restarted and it works again. 8 hours later

Please take a look at my post. I spent a few hours investigating today and was in contact with support. There was a Windows update yesterday, which seems to be the cause of the new problems.
