Steeve,
Take this as your warning not to venture to the world of Sims 4 lol. I use DX9 because I wasn’t able to load any of my save files with DX11. Switching over to DX9 fixed that. Also yes, that is the error message I’m receiving. The error started today.. after the game updated. I was able to open the game one time before the error started. Thanks!
Thanks for your advice, I'll take it seriously 🤭

So you're one of the few people who are still experiencing this problem despite the fix.
Try this solution, it sometimes works too :
--EA app--
If you're using the EA app, perform an app recovery (the app will restart), then “repair” your game.
--Steam--
If you use Steam, go to the Steam settings in the “Download” tab, click “Clear Cache,” then repair your game (on Steam, this operation is called “Verify Integrity of Game Files”).
Let me know how it goes 😀

As much as I wish I could say this worked, it didn’t. Think I’ll give it a couple of days to see if it magically repairs itself. If not 🤷. Thanks though!

Thank you.
Here is one last solution before I can no longer help you, as further testing requires advanced computer knowledge. This solution comes from puzzlezaddict :
The post : Failed to launch game | EA Forums - 12521922" Please try playing in a clean user folder. Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop. When you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.) Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.
Let me know 😃

I was actually able to start the game when removing the Mods folder a little while before I made my initial post. But, I couldn't find any issue in my Mods folder causing the failure.
