This is what fixed it for me
I use the BF4 web browser to launch BF4. https://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/
I do not use the in game menus.
I a cleared my cache and logged I turned ON the button that allows it to view my locally connected devices.
1. Open your web browser
2. Go into settings
3. Find your cache and cookies and clear it. (I cleared the last 24 hours)
4. restart/refresh the browser web page for https://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/
5. Login
6. When it prompts you allow local devices (select yes)
after this it worked.
When i cleared my cache and did NOT select that question at step 6..i was unable to launch the game from the web browser.
