Has been saying preparing download

I've recently bought the Sims 2 legacy and I've tried downloading it, but every time I do it keeps saying preparing, and goes from 0% to 2% then go back down again, I've tried literally everything such as uninstalling and reinstalling the ea app, paused the download and unpaused it, canceled and tried again, cleared cache, restarted my ea app and computer, I've honestly tried everything and I don't know how to fix this. Am I doing something wrong? Please tell me how I can fix this.
