HELP! Application Login - Blank grey box after opening EA App. Cannot login.

Summarize your bug Open the windows desktop app after installing but only have a blank grey/blue box show up with no options to do anything apart from hovering over the box where there are hidden text fields
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Not sure what this means?
What happens when the bug occurs? The app opens only a blank box with hidden text feilds
What do you expect to see? Text indicating what to do, or possible a login portal

I run windows 7 and have logged into origin only to find out I now are required to download EA app.  I have just made the forced switch from origin. The link to download/ install the EA app seamed ok and text showed during the installation onto the desktop, but, once the install finished and origin uninstalled I open the desktop EA App and am only able to see a grey/ blue blank square. There is no login buttons or text is visible to show, direct, or tell me what to do when the EA app is launched. I can hover over the grey square and my mouse registers there is some type of text box as my mouse arrow turns to a typing bar, however, there is nothing showing me what to do. I have read other forums, I have closed Discord from background apps, uninstalled, rebooted my laptop and reinstalled several times, with no success or any change. Attached are screen shots of the pop ups i get after clicking the desktop app and the mystery grey box after clicking yes. PLEASE HELP!

  • With no word on what to do. I am taking this as a sign from the man made universe to no longer sink hard earned money into useless junk that is EA. Thank you EA for teaching me a hard lesson in wasting money on crap that is sims packs which add little no value to my life. Cheers.

  • I have this problem too after I downloaded the app yesterday. I've managed to guess what the hidden boxes were asking for (email and password) so managed to log in, but it opens as a blank box too. Once I'm logged in though I can open games from the desktop icons.

    No. I've spoken to three different advisors, repaired the app, installed and reinstalled the app, clean booted my computer, no luck. The final advisor told me he was going to make a report, but I may not get a direct response. Just sitting and hoping it will be fixed soon, really frustrating.

  • mm yea I moved on, though id come check in. Hope you get your solution for the same thing that I had/ have. You got more luck with someone actually getting in touch with you. wish there was a refund option as if id known id only get to play $200 NZD worth of games for only 1 month. Id never would have bought any of it. All the best and hope you get things fixed.

    @Derby_Girl_994 No one got in touch with me, I went to the EA contact page and chose to speak to someone online. If you feel like it, it might be worth seeing if you can chat to someone. If they're getting the same problem reported multiple times they might get on it quicker. Driving me bananas tbh 🥲
    If I get a fix I'll post it here though for anyone else having the same problem.
  • Yea,I've tried getting in touch and didn't hear anything from them :/ Best luck getting movement to a solution to this issue.
