How do I bypass the EA App forced installation and access Origin to play games.I cannot open Origin. It is forcing to install the EA app that does not work!The EA app is broken.Purchased content shows as I don't own it. Missing expansion packs and add-ons that cost a LOT of $$$$ over the year!.Existing game files won't play. You can only re-start a new game file.Reinstalling does not work - attempts to install content says game needs to be updated.Repair did not update. Game files were all up to date and working this morning!

Absolute trash, this EA app is. Functions are broken as stated above PLUS, what hasn't been mentioned is that for some god forsaken reason, it shows itself to shadowplay as a game, so each time I launch it, and subsequently launch one of my games on there (duh) ingame recording is stuck to EA app.So unless I disable shadowplay background recording and re-enable it each time I launch Battlefield 2042 for example, I'm gonna have a static 20 min recording of the GOD AWFUL FORCED ON ME EA APP instead of the lest 20 minutes of gameplay.No, I'm not going to accept having to manually do this each time I launch a game.And no, I'm not going to set shadowplay to record the whole desktop to workaround this unacceptable fault of EA.When shadowplay is set to record the desktop, it has a lot more instances of corrupted recordings and it's also a waste of storage space, when I save the last 5 mins of gameplay after launching a game... and I get 15mins of desktop/web browsing in the beginning of the file + 5mins of gameplay. (yeah, I have the replay buffer set to 20mins)Additionally, if I happen to play CS:GO for example (which I play at a lower res) before playing BF and I have desktop recording on, the chances of the mp4 file being corrupted in some way, skyrocket. This is why one should leave desktop recording for the replay buffer of shadowplay OFF, which doesn't present any problems... except if you're using the EA APP, and of course. no matter how hard I try, I cannot revert back to Origin now.I typed this all out, because I suspect EA reps would have the nerve to suggest a workaround like this INSTEAD OF FIXING THEIR ABHORRABLE LAUNCHER.ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE THAT THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE IS FORCED ON USERS!!!!!!I tried every trick, leaving the EA app installed while reinstalling origin has worked for the past month after EA first forced their REPRESENTATION AS A COMPANY on me, but today the FORCED UPDATE TO EA APP banner has popped up again.Already updated the trash EA APP to its latest version, in hopes that if I do that, Origin will let me use itself... but alas, nope.Fully updated EA APP, but Origin still asks to "update the ea app" upon reinstalling it and logging in, which of course uninstalls Origin.I'm considering abandoning the Battlefield series, into which I sunk 2000+ hours and play it daily.ABSOLUTE TRASH COMPANY.Screenshooting my reply in advance, in case it gets censored.I wouldn't be surprised.

I've now had this problem on other PCs, all Windows 10 Pro 64 bit, all fully Patched, all working absolutely fine, and all cannot Upgrade from Origin to the mandatory EA App.Now I cannot access any paid for content, and cannot go back to Origin.There is no option to override the forced EA Upgrade, it now dominates the Origin screen, and there is no workaround.I have tried all of the various suggestions to get around this, such as Running the EA App download as Administrator, making sure all Windows Modules are updated, and turning off Anti-Virus.Nothing works.The EA App Upgrade always downloads stuff, then halts at the Installation Screen, then, after a little while, it announces something has gone wrong. and would I like to submit a Report to the Droids, which I do every time.I must stress this exact same issue has happened on different well specified PCs and Laptops, and it is very obviously an EA App problem.This is, effectively, a catastrophic EA App Upgrade failure, because it totally prevents any access to existing paid-for Content.There is no obvious way around this, and nobody should be expected to spend hours trying to find a way around what should be a simple update.

This is why I so dislike any Software that requires an online login just to run paid-for content.Eventually, the Company will neglect to keep the Servers going, and the Software will become unusable.Although in this EA App case, the Company concerned has simply made an epic mess of a forced upgrade, and has contrived to disable all access to paid-for Content in the process.Is there nobody left running the Company who has any authority to supervise what the children in the IT Department get up to? Or to ensure they actually test their creations before unleashing them on unsuspecting Customers?Come on EA, crack on and resolve the problem you have created.At the very least, disable the forced EA App upgrade in the Origin login, so people can carry on with what works in the interim.Tick, tock, the clock is ticking, and people are getting very annoyed at the total lack of action, or even of an acknowledgement that there is a problem.

mine is forcing me to update to from 10.5.119 to 10.5.122. when i updated origin, the eashitapp pop up came back. uninstalled, reinstalled the 119 version and i deleted the OriginSetupInternal.exe from C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin and prevented from being forced to update. for now.

The EA app notification patch got fixed!! 😠 Can they just let us use the Origin app again which had no problems?!

The local.xml trick does not work for me anymore. I've spent hundreds of dollars in the Sims and it's dlc, only for it to be locked off. Very crummy EA.😠

eh, looks like the xml is updated everytime origin is launched and the added entry (migration disabled) is removed
any potential workarounds in existence already?

How do I bypass the "Install EA Client" when I launch the Origin Client. the EA Client is a large pile of awful. I tried it, text boxes don't line up properly. Can't make purchases with PayPal. I remove it and reinstalled Origin and now can't get past the EA App install splash screen.

@Mardoin69 I finally got the time to login and check postings.
The link you left for /5783-origin.html is in deed the 228 mb full Origin client. NOT the light "Thin" Origin installer. I downloaded it to have a spare copy of 10.5.119.52718 since I do vaguely remember this being one of the latest of the full version installers. Considering how quickly the last one I had found was relaced with the "Thin" version I did not want to risk the chance. There
is a notation in the Properties "Details" tab for the download at the very bottom that says the "Original filename" was OriginThinSetup.exe but that version is less than 100 mb last time I found
it which was on the page I originally got the 228 mb full version copy a while back. The one that had been changed to the EA App when I went back to it.
I would most definately recommend that everyone download it as soon as possible to insure they have it on hand. Save it to an external drive or USB that will hold it so you can always re-install it if you need to later on.
I wish EA would realize what a failure the EA App is and pull it. I STILL cannot get it to install even using safe mode on my Windows 10 Pro... Rediculas that they cannot, or do not want, to get the message about the app.
All we can do is keep filing/opening complaints about issues with it. Then of course there are the recent updates that EA has pushed on games for those of us still running Origin. Deceitful and dispicable. One update disabled the single player mode on that game. I am going back through my game backups to find the last release that I played OFFLINE mode on to replace it with. Then I am going to remove fire wall clearance for Origin and each of my games in case I forget to unplug my internet cable next time I go to play one of them.
