I can't download DLCs for BF3 from the EA app

Hello i recently got Xbox Game Pass Ultimate which allowed me to play BF3, but when i downloaded the game and i started to download the dlcs it gave me an error about a hiccup telling me to restart my pc, i did and it still gave me the error, i searched for fixes and tried every single one from this https://help.ea.com/en/help/ea/ea-app/game-download-install-load-troubleshoot/#:~:text=Try%20re%2Dinstalling%20the%20EA%20app&text=Open%20the%20Control%20Panel%20(find,try%20installing%20your%20game%20again which still didn't work. Support told me to ask here.

Install the BF3 and EA app under C:\ can start the downloading of DLC

Not to necro a post, but ffs if it helps somebody I'm here for it.
If you have done all the outlined steps that frankly barely work (uninstall/reinstall, clear cache, UAC, delete folder in %appdata%, etc etc etc) and you still get the something went haywire message, then go C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 3\Update and delete the folder for Xpack_ whatever one isn't downloading. In my case this was Aftermath which is Xpack4. Good luck people who remember when battlefield was still good and want to relive that glory.
