Jedi: Fallen Order won’t launch. I just recently bought it through steam and every time I try to launch it I get a little window saying: “Your game failed to launch. An error on our end caused your ...
This has been an issue with this game since its launch. Get it together EA; you are a AAA developer. This is insanely ridiculous that this is even still a problem! The game does not launch whatsoever, and the command-line arguments I have used in the past to force launch the game do not work either. You are charging money for a broken/unusable product. Fix this immediately.
Alternatively, hire better developers, my god.
Do not reply to this with something condescending such as "have you made sure the computer is plugged in and you have updated your drivers". I have been working on computers all my life, and this is entirely a software issue on your end, and it is honestly astounding it still exists.
This is now the FIFTH time I’m trying to get somebody (ONE PERSON) from EA "Technical Support" to help me with regards to my issue which I am attaching below with my response that I sent previously but no one seems to be looking. Each time I reach out to EA, I seem to be only able to e-mail rather than a live chat, and for the past 2 WEEKS, I have gotten 4 e-mails from 4 different people asking the same exact questions to which I (patiently) provide the exact same details/symptoms! This is extremely frustrating and NEED HELP!
Original Case issue:
Cannot launch Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order for even the first time. Uninstalled/reinstalled 5 times with no success. Getting error "There is a problem with your game's setup. Please reinstall your game". This was purchased and downloaded via Steam, but support is supposed to be provided by EA!
And in response to each "support" person's question, Idohave the EA app and it has no issue in that part. As I stated several times, I have uninstalled and reinstalled this game at least FIVE times with the same issue. It also seems that I can only install this game via steam. I also would like to speak to one person not five asking me the same questions. I need this solved ASAP. Here is what I just sent the other day to their support with no response.
I was trying something different and getting the following error when launching that C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Jedi Fallen Order\SwGame\Binaries\Win64\SwGame-Win64-Shipping.exe:
System Error The code execution cannot proceed because X3Daudio1_7.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem
After 5 installs/uninstalls/reinstalls why am I getting this error?? and yes I already had the EA app running in the background..
So far I have not gotten the support I expected☹️
Note - I do NOT want yet another person just sending me generic steps like the last 5 people - Why am I getting the above .dll error? Is that the actual reason it will not launch after several re-installs and verifications? If so, why is this file not included?? How can I get this file?? Has anyone ever encountered this issue? For the $$ spent I would think there would be better support☹️
I haven't bothered with going to support because I know they won't do anything about it, do you have discord or anything? Or just keep me updated if you find anything on here.
Correct, EA "support" has done absolutely nothing to help on my issue (received 6 different e-mails from 6 different "support" guys all saying the exact same thing - must be a form letter). Very Frustrating! What I ended up doing was I re-downloaded Microsoft's DirectX run-time package from the Microsoft website Download DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010) from Official Microsoft Download Center
even though I have DirectX and this time it installed the missing dll. I then was able to finally launch the game
is the one that used to force launch the game for me.
I think I figured this one out, though. Give it a try, and see if it works.
with the new version of Origin, which I think fixes the Windows 10 issue with screen resolution there is an entirely separate exe in the SwGame>Binaries>Win64 folder with the same name as the original executable but with the word "Shipping" in the name. This will launch the game independent of Steam and Origin, but you won't get controller config overrides in-game if you don't launch through either client. However, if you launch the game using the "Shipping" executable, you can hook the Steam bootstrapper to the game instance, and you'll be able to use Steam controller overrides. BUT, Steam will automatically connect and hook to the EA app as well, which can make the controller configs a little glitchy but not at all unplayable. Hope this helps!
@sriglin1226quick note: if the Steam bootstrapper doesn't hook to the instance of the game, wait until you are at the home screen, and don't be afraid to hit the Play button on Steam a few times to get it to work. Also, Steam may continue to display the "Play" button even though the bootstrapper has hooked to the game, and everything works fine; this seems like a normal bug of having so many api's calling out at each other like a busy intersection with a malfunctioning redlight lololol. What a mess.
Thank you so much @sriglin1226 - using SwGame-Win64-Shipping.exe did the trick after the force upgrade from the Origin App to EA App. The game wouldn't start anymore saying "a problem occured on our end"... Thank you!
