    @Cassinni4

In the EA app, click on the 3 bar menu at top left, Settings, Download.

There you can edit the install location.

Exit the app, reboot and retry at that point.

    Thanks.

  • @EA_Barry Thank you for your answer, but he is asking for EA app recognizing an already installed game. Not setting up a new install location.
I remember having Origin an option like this, as does every other game launcher i am using.
Does EA App have an option like this? I was trying moving the already installed game files into the new one EA App is creating when downloading the game again, but it doesn't recognize them as already downloaded.

    ANSWER:

Just install the game, and choose the folder of the game

itll 'update' and 3sec later its ready to play

  • What worked for me:

    1) Make sure the game installation location is matching
    2) Start installing the game
    3) Once the downloading starts, cancel the installation
    4) Click install again
    5) The EA app should validate game files and download updates without having to redownload the whole game again.

Hope that helps for someone potentially stumbling here like me.

  • Indeed but that only work if you have more then enough space on your drive, what i have is i want to reinstall the game star wars survivor and you need 129,.. gb i only have space for 61 but the game is already there and it would not start the game in the folder that i tryed as well you get redirected to the EA app for installing the game

I know it has been a while, but this issue has bugged me for years as well. Finally found a solution that works, but you need to know the NAME and Letter of the original install drive.

Put your games in any drive you want, then change the name of that drive and the letter to match the one in your EA app/Settings/download. Ex: Toshiba (G:) You can can do this by right clicking the drive in File Explorer/Properties.

Then wallah, it automatically recognizes the Games! Good luck.
