Hi, I've spend a week trying to fix similar bug - game crashed after 2 min, always the same time (see https://answers.ea.com/t5/Other-Mass-Effect-Games/EA-app-won-t-let-me-play-Mass-Effect-1-but-Origin-does/td-p/12344810) it turned out I've needed EA App in-game overlay turned on. Maybe this will help.
