Re-downloading full game instead of updating it

Summarize your bug The EA Desktop client just re-downloaded a full game instead of updating it. Game was installed in the Origin Games folder. I still use both clients since EA Desktop still doesn't have cloud saves as far as I am aware. So I launched the EA Desktop client and it started to auto-download what I thought was a game update. When it finished I noticed it created a second game installation in the EA Games folder. Game is still saying there is a update to download but when I press the button it just wants to start and download the full game again. I then launched the Origin client and it updated correctly. This is not the first time this happened, but never on it's own like this. When it auto-start it usually downloads the update, but when I have to press the update button manually it always wants to re-download the whole game.

    If it keep repeating downloading after finish i figure it out a very stupid fix that worked for me.

    Set another game, small if you want, to download after the game tha keeps downloading over and over. After it finishes download it jump to the next one and the game is ready to download. And for me both games download and stop. You can set to download another game and after start you can cancel too. No other fix they said worked for me. This is a horrible APP no wonder people prefer to buy elsewhere.

    SAME !

    Just waited several hours for Unbound to download (31GB)

    And once the download finished...IT STARTED AGAIN ???

    F**k the EA App, seriously 😮

    I have just had the same problem with Star Wars Jedi Survivor, now I have to redownload over 150gb... its not hard to get a simple thing right EA. Something you just dont understand. If the issue is not fixed I will boycott EA access for good. What a joke.

    Exactly what's just happened to me, 130GB 'update' when I go to play it for the 2nd time. Had to clear storage just for it since it apparently needed the extra room to update...

    I also just had this problem, I went through the process of redownloading before the release so i didn't mind, but now that im actually getting into the game this has caused an almost 7 hour delay (Network isn't that great) Fix this problem please, I don't want other people to have to deal with this problem in the future.

    Still happens... honestly I think I'm just gonna speed rush this game next time I can and be done with it. Every time I REALLY wanna play it, it needs to update it and when it does it downloads the WHOLE game... I wondered if it's because it's the EA Play Pro version. If I paid full price for this game and had all it's problems I'd be livid. 

    It's just this game too. Cuz Fifa just updated in like 5 minutes no problem. Also don't feel bad about network. It takes me 7 hours to update and re download it too and I'm on fios with very good connection.

    Happens to me with every game I download. Jedi Survivor was running fine bevor, then the patch arrived and it's downloading over and over again. Every other launcher is working perfectly fine. I'm so sick and tired with the EA App throwing issue after issue to me, I have to fix for myself. Never again a EA Game....
