SimCity (2013) not available for Mac?

Ever since the EA App replaced Origin, I can't install SimCity (the 2013 iteration of the game) on my Mac. It says that the game is only available for Windows PCs, even though it was launched for both PC and Mac. I installed it in an older Mac years ago (using Origin), and the EA website lists SimCity as being available for Mac through the EA App, as well as for PC. Is there any way to fix this, and get SimCity up and running on a Mac with the EA App? Thanks.

(Attached screenshots to demonstrate this case)

  • cbrmg  The EA App version of SimCity is 32-bit and therefore won't run in macOS Catalina (10.15) or newer.  The EA App only runs in Catalina or newer.  So it's pointless to have the App even offer the game—no Mac can run both.

I doubt you'd want to buy the game again, but if you did, the version on the App Store is 64-bit.

I guess that explains why. Thanks a bunch!

And, to be honest, I didn't even THINK about the possibility of SimCity being a 32-bit application. Guess I've just learned something new about this game, even after 11+ years since launch!
