I completely switched to a new system this year and at the same time moved over to the EA App (which so far I despise.) Top of the list of complaints is that Sims 3 will not install fully. It installs about half of the packs and then gets stuck preparing and will not finish installing. The only fix i have been able to find is "just install it with Origin" which is not a solution for me because Origin now no longer functions even with an installer. You open it and find a popup telling you have to switch to the ea app. You cannot close this pop up. So. How the fresh hell do I get all of my Sims 3 packs installed?

Hi @MadeByCoffee,
I've merged your post in with the current main thread on this issue- this is currently being looked into, could you please provide the information requested in the post above yours?

I have provided all the info I have been asked for, and I am still receiving the run-around from customer service after opening a case weeks ago. 10 minutes ago, I just got another form email telling me to go to the forums for help with this issue, even though we're all on this forum asking for help. I'm tagging you both and providing my info again for clarity:
- Your EA ID -- My EA ID is BANANABANSHEES
- What content is not installing SIMS 3 PETS IS NOT INSTALLING
- An EA Error Report ID Number
5da83765-44a4-4b59-b718-ecf9bf599e9a
Please assist. I know tech support is hard (it's my job at work too), but people have been reporting this issue for quite some time. I bought a new expansion and don't want to have yet another EA purchase that I can never play (this happened to me before with the game Remember Me. The case was marked "resolved" but I never got to play the game nor received a refund).

I just bought Sims 3 Showtime through the EA app, and it will not install nor download onto my computer. Is there something wrong with the game or is there another step I need to take?

It's a problem with the EAapp itself, which EA has ignored for months. There are some workarounds to get Origin working again instead of the EAapp - but EA has not bothered to fix the problem. I honestly doubt they will. They've gaslit me in every email and case I've opened. No assistance and no refunds.

@EA_SolaireIs this still being looked into? Ever since I bought and installed Seasons, Pets and University haven't been working. I've uninstalled and reinstalled everything several times, and for some reason those two packs just will not install

Always a bad sign when you google a problem and find 17 pages of people with the same issue.
I had all the games and EPs running on an external hard drive which apparently doesn't like Windows 11 and keeps disconnecting. After spending three days trying to sort that I gave up and decided to download my games back onto the main computer again (something I had hoped to avoid when I got the external drive!)
Was pushed to the EA app which I am so far less than impressed with.
Managed to download most of them but I have four add-ons that are stuck on preparing before saying there is a problem with the download.
The ones I am having issues with are
Into the Future
Movie Stuff
University Life
Island Paradise
If it was just stuff packs I would probably be less annoyed but my favourite EPs are ones that are not downloading.
Going to check out the video link and see if that helps since it is clear that EA are no use at all.
ETA: Looks like the fix in the video won't work for me. My Origin doesn't have a pop-up. It just says use the app to continue right on the start up screen. Can't even see anything behind that message as it is embedded rather than a pop-up in front of the program. Highly frustrating.
