Ea app not downloading sims 3 expansion packs
i go to the ea app to the sims 3 and i click manage my add-ons island paradise, pets, showtime, university life i click download it says preparing. It gets stuck and never downloads, i restart the ea app and it doesn't help. I can't download origin anymore i don't know what to do.
whats your issue with redownloading origin? make sure youre closing EA and EA background services in task manager before you download it, if you hadnt.

Hey @itsmeelisemarie 🙌
I'm not sure what others experienced, but when I redownload origin now, it redirects me to download EA when I open it and doesn't give me the option to use the Origin interface. Have you found a way around this? I'd be super interested to try it if so.
If I'm reading your post right, you started the download of the expansion pack on EA, and then also downloaded Origin? Did you have to uninstall EA to get the download to transfer to Origin? Or did you have both systems installed at the same time?

I can confirm that the workaround method from @itsmeelisemarie is working. It downloaded all 5 of my stuck expansion packs successfully.
The process is simple:
1) Open the EA App and begin all pack downloads.
2) Open task manager and force close the EA App and any associated background processes.3) Open Origin (you may have to redownload and install the client if EA uninstalled it for you) and log-in.
4) Now wait. Ignore the EA App popup message, it won't go away, but that doesn't matter. In the lower left-hand corner you should begin to see the Origin client downloading any pending game installations.
5) After the downloads and installs are complete, close Origin and return to the EA App and cancel any pending downloads, since the installations are already done.
