[Solved] Account wiped after switch to EA App from Origin
Today I wanted to re-download my Origin launcher and login to my Origin account after a while, only to find out that Origin has been discontinued and its launcher replaced by EA App. However, after logging in the EA App, I observed several things:
- My previous EA forum nickname remained as previously (Ramikad)
- My previous EA forum avatar was reset (I since changed it back to what it was, manually)
- My game library is empty (I had Star Wars: Battlefront [2015] in my Origin account)
- My forum history on EA forum is empty (I posted in a thread about Simpsons: Tapped Out several years back, I think back in 2017)
- My forum join date is reset to today
I reinstalled Windows since I last had Origin client installed, so in a freshly installed Origin client I'm getting the message that I "must be online to log in for the first time", but also that "online login is currently unavailable" (screenshot).
Is there any way for me to reclaim my previous posts and games?
Hey there @Ramikad,
If your game library isn't showing your owned games in the EA App and your forum post history and account has been reset, then most likely you're logging into the EA App with the wrong login details. You need to login to the app with the same details that you originally purchased your content on, and you'll see everything available in your library to download and access again.
I'd recommend checking any emails you have for the email receipt of your purchases so you know which account to login to the EA App to. If you need further help locating the correct login details, that's something live support can help with- you can reach out to live support by submitting a help request here, or you can get in touch with that team via Twitter or Facebook as well.
