Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? steams games link with origin and now with ea app same problem i guess
What happens when the bug occurs? Ea app window said : "failed to launch the game"
What do you expect to see? the game to launch

hi,

i bought the game on steam but it needed origin to launch and i was playing like that before.

Then origin was replaced by EA app ... installation of Ea app goes well

But since the game wouldn't launch.

An EA app window just said " failed to launch the game, retry"

It's the only game in my steam library that need origin to work, it always have been a pain in the a** to get it work with the origin link.

But i get it work and was able to play the game.

Now with EA app i have just no idea what is the problem.

Help ?!?

I got the game to run in an straightforward way.
1st go here:
In the Win64 directory are two executable files.
When I launch via "starwarsjedifallenorder.exe" I get the error message "You do not have acess. This titile may have been downloaded to your device by another user who owns the game. Log in to a different account or restart the app to try again." (I bought via Steam at launch day and I already have 32h with the game. But I haven't tried to start it for over 2 years. Present day: When launched via the steam library I get the EA App message "Failed to launch due to error on our side...")
But when you start via the file "SwGame-Win64-Shipping.exe" it works.

Hello everybody,
I DID IT ! lol
The solution :
1) open steam launcher
2) open EA app launcher
THE TRICK ==> 3) Log in with your account on EA.com and STEAM.com website !!! BOTH !!!
4) Lauch the game through steam launcher or eapp launcher.
Try both if one don't work.
Now steam and EA app will be able to make the link through Ea and steam website.
5) Play and gg
It's a shame that i wasn't able to find this explanation nowhere, it's simple and "logic" but never highlight and a waste of time.
Bonus : A was able to make RDR2 buy on Epic a few weeks ago to work like that too : by loging in the rockstar social media website and epic website.
Warning :
If you have anti-script/advertising addons like noscript/µblockorigin,etc with your net navigator(firefox,chrome,edge,brave etc) I advise you to temporarily and specifically disable them on the steam and ea website. Aggressive configurations can potentially block the procedure. So allow both website fully!

I just bought the game on steam, I downloaded it and it did not work, I even unlinked my stream from EA.com and linked it again and still not working.
The game should appear in EA App as installed but it's not.

@Kondax i don't remember but i think i launch the game with ea app first after i log in ea website. try both

Wow, this is the ONLY way I've seen that works. I had the exact same problem as you, thanks so much for posting an answer that actually worked for me. EA needs to fix their broken software.
