The EA launcher wont download!

I have been playing the Sims for many years. I played the sims 3, then sims 4 and for this time i have always used origin. Origin is now not working it is telling me i need to download the ea launcher and not allowing me to access any of my games at all (this is hundreds of pounds worth of games i cant access). I obviously went to download the ea launcher but it has now been installing for almost 5 hours (this doesn't seem right to me). Can some one please help because i really dont way to loose all my games or my current sims as i have been working on this current save for ages.
