Solved

There's a problem with your account

Hi,

I have my xbox live account linked to ea. And also have active subscription to EA Play (from xbox subscription). I can login and see on browser that everything is ok.

However when try to login on ea desktop. After entering credential, I get "Something went wrong. There's a problem with your account". I tried below things

  1. Repair EA Desktop app
  2. Clear cache
  3. Uninstall and reinstall app
  4. Running as administrator
  5. Compatibility mode. As I am running in windows 11. I see there are some threads saying that EA desktop is beta and not compatible with Windows 11. But it was running before.
  6. Unlink and relink the account. Now I can not unlink anymore
  7. Used another EA account and tried login. But same error. So not related to my specific account.

Now not sure what to do now.

A help will be greatly appreciated.

  • Hey @ddewashish can you check if an anti-virus or firewall on the device may be interfering with EA Desktop? Also, you can try to Untick the options in LAN Settings

I have the same issue but after almost deleting half the files off my computer on accident I reinstall the EA app right then I login it closes then opens to the login screen and then it says there is something wrong with your account what the heck please help

  • IF EA DOESN'T TELL ME HOW TO FIX THIS IM GONNA UNINSTALL THIS EA APP WHICH IS COMPLETE TRASH

  • For me connecting to a VPN and trying to login with the VPN 'On' worked.. nothing else worked such as firewall changes, reinstalling, password reset etc. BTW I am playing from India, in case that information helps in any way

  • I have the same issue.  I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the EA Desktop App which did not work.  I tried installing Origin and still cannot log in.  I shut off my firewall and antivirus programs, which did not help either.  Is there a chance my IP address was banned because I installed my games on both a laptop plus a desktop computer?

I have tried using two different accounts registered and neither allows me to log in.  I am ready to give up on all EA games for the time being.

I was just having the same issue. Try to login with your EA ID instead. That is the only way I could get it to work.
