There's a problem with your download

I've been having an issue where I wasn't able to download a few EPs/GPs/SPs for the Sims 3 on EA Play. So I went back and finished it on Origin, where it worked just fine. But now whenever I open EA Play to play the Sims 3, it still shows the same thing downloading and still gives the same error.

I've tried to cancel it multiple times (as it's now installed) but I get the EXACT same error message and it won't cancel.

It's months later and I'm being told that Origin will be unusable soon so I downloaded EA Play again.

And I'M STILL getting the error and it won't let me download the add ons and it's claiming I don't have them installed.

I even went as far to uninstall them via my settings and I noticed that it didn't show a size for them in my apps...

@A_Bridge_2_Far For sure and EA App issue over there, I had the same issue after moving from Origin to EA App with Battlefield 2042 installed. It kept saying that I need to download the game even tho the game was already installed.
I have unistalled the game to reinstall it and I got the same error as @goldenhatcher ... This is so annoying.
If you install the game from another account it works well, so this is an account sync cache issue. Not a local, even tried to reinstall Windows 11 and didn't worked out...

Currently facing the same issue, I can download my Battlefield 2042 via Origin, but everytime I try to do it on EA app it fails and throws Something went wrong with our download error. Wondering if they'll manage to fix it by the time Origin shuts down

  • Bought EA Play Pro after my year sub ran out. When I launched EA Play today to resub, I noticed the game was not in the installed section anymore. Resubbed, and tried to download. Exact same error. Deleted EVERYTHING EA, from %appdata% and everything. No dice (pun intended).
Basically paid $20AUD for an error message. I hope they at least refund me some of it, I literally only want to play BF2042.
Oh, and also, I can install any other game just fine, it's just battlefield that won't do it.

Got the same issue, switching to the old Origin client eventually did the trick.

  • I had a similar issue and documented it.

    Bug
    :

I was unable to download Battlefield 1 on my EA account due to a persistent "There's a problem with your download" error. I have an EA Play membership and it includes Battlefield 1. The issue was not present when another account is logged into the EA App. This issue occurs with any computer I logged into with my account.

    Solution:

    1. Fully cancel EA Play membership subscription and either:

      • Wait until your remaining membership expires

        Or

      • Remove EA Play membership access before paid through date (An EA Help representative action is the only way I know how)

Note: Optimally one would receive a refund for the month they would be cancelling, but it may prove difficult.
    1. Confirm the absence of an EA Play membership by clearing cache and/or logging out then logging back into the EA App.

Note: If removing EA Play access before paid through date, wait until you have confirmed its absence before disconnecting with the EA Help representative

    2. Purchase EA Play membership subscription and restart EA App.

Note: At the time of this post the first month of a new EA Play membership subscription is $0.99.

    3. Download game and play as normal.
