Xbox app won't connect to EA desktop, can't install any games through gamepass

I have tried everyting - UAC on, reinstallation EA and Xbox, linking accounts, nothing worked unless ... as last chance I removed Origin application and it was it !

So let's check if you have Origin app installed and remove it, so only EA Desktop and Xbox app are left. 

After removing Origin app I rebooted windows but maybe it is not necessary.

amazing, thank you so much. i don't know how you found this solution but I'm damn happy. no one else addresses this issue. i don't know why they don't just make it so you log in from the Xbox app instead of this ridiculous round about but I'm happy I finally got this * to work. thanks.

I fixed it by hovering over EA in taskbar, 
right clicking the preview 
'Maximize' window

this but it wont even send me to the pop up window

i still cant install any EA games on xbox game pass on pc. says that my account is already linked, then once i create a NEW EA games account and link that it says it was successful. i go to install an EA game and it wants me to verify my email but they never show in my email. i go back to EA games website and link my second account manually and it says i already have linked that (new) account to that gamertag. i have 3 different accounts linked to my xbox account and can't $%&#ing verify ANY of them. It's actually incredible!
