EA account hacked - email changed, Steam still accessible

Hi EA team, my EA account has been compromised and the email address was changed without my permission. When I try to sign in using Steam, EA asks me to verify my identity by sending a code to an email address that does not belong to me, which means I am completely locked out. I still have full access to my Steam account, which is linked to this EA account, and this should help confirm ownership. I cannot receive verification codes because they are being sent to the attacker’s email. I have not unlinked Steam and I have not created a new EA account. I am requesting help with account recovery, restoring my correct email address, and securing the account. I have already tried using EA Help but cannot complete verification due to the email change. Please advise the correct next steps or escalate this to the appropriate support team. Thank you for your assistance.

  • Hi qezp813da9gf,

I’m sorry to hear you’re dealing with this. When account details have been changed by someone else, our support team can help you recover the EA account and reset the account information so it once again reflects your information.

    Here’s what to do:

    • Start a case with EA Support. Open this guide and scroll to the bottom to select 'Contact Us'. From there, fill out the ticket form and submit it to open a case with our support team.
    • Helpful to have ready:
      • The original email address you used to create the EA account.
      • Purchase receipts if you have them.
      • Game Codes you've redeemed on the account (if available).
      • Any connected accounts, like a PSN ID, Xbox Gamertag, Steam ID, etc.

This can help speed up the process.

In the meantime, here are a couple of EA Help articles you might find useful:

Please also make sure to take advantage of the security settings available for any of the connected accounts linked up to the EA account as well to ensure they are also secure. Examples of connected accounts include the email address registered, accounts such as SteamAmazon and Twitch, Console accounts (PlayStationXboxNintendo Switch, etc), mobile accounts (Apple IDGoogle Play) and Social Media accounts (Facebook).

    Thank you,

    - EA_Lanna

Any chance there is a solution for a slightly different situation ( Hacker Linked to my XBox | EA Forums - 13089879 ). In this case, I did not forget my EA account (I am currently on it). A hacker who was on my XBox account linked their own EA account which is stopping me from linking mine. EA Live Support has been absolutely no help and no one is responding to the cases.
