"Enter a valid EA ID." Error Message is Useless

All I'm trying to do is change my EA ID from "CT-Sapper" to "[KDM] Sapper". I would be more understanding if this error message was actually explaining the issue to me but come on EA seriously? Why ...

Hey CT-Sapper​ there are hundreds of millions of EA accounts, and as such, many variations of names are taken.

If the username you are attempting to use is not accepted, then you will need to keep trying till you find one that is accepted.

I know it's not what you want to hear but it's just one of those things. You may think that you have found the most unique name in the world, only to discover that twenty people have variations on it.
