Unable to change EA ID

Hey XxOFFSETxX​ as there are millions of EA users a lot of usernames are taken so if seeing that error the best thing to do is keep trying till you find one accepted.

wow, thank you for the completely unhelpful answer, because it never occurred to me to try multiple variations of the screen name. 

I’m not really sure why I keep giving EA a chance between the abysmal launch of battlefield 2042 the basically unusable website and the ineptitude of the community manager, I’m not sure why I’m even trying to play the latest battlefield. 

I have the same issue. And it’s not the first time I’ve had this issue. Years ago my ID randomly changed to some random letters and numbers and heard nothing from support. Just had to keep trying and trying until it finally went through. Now, I have the same issue again, I want to change it, but I can’t 

Ea is garbage, this isn’t because an ID is already used, because you get the message no matter what name you put in, you can put the most random thing in that nobody will ever pick, but you’ll  get an id already in use. 
This is an EA issue. 

jfc this is such a ridiculously unhelpful answer. The website is broken and gives a pop-up no matter what you type. I know this because I used multiple different username options, some complete nonsense, and they all got the pop-up. Like, I am stuck with my ID being my legal name, which is so bad for security reasons. And your only response is to say "keep trying"??? 

Testing this and am able to change the username. There are tens of millions if not hundreds of EA accounts and all have unique usernames so it is possible that finding one that is not used is hard.

I know im super late to this, but im having the same issue. Ive searched up the name i want to change to, and nobody is using it. I havent changed my account name in the last 30 days so i dont know why it wouldnt let me.

Just because you cannot find the username in use macattack1544​ does not mean that this is the case. It is possible for users not to be found in specific cases.

The best thing to do would be to try different ones will you find one accepted.
