Wishlist for Madden and College football Series
I've been a dedicated fan of the Madden NFL and NCAA Football (now EA Sports College Football) series since the '90s, and I look forward to playing both interchangeably every year. Rather than focusing on a single-team franchise, I've always built my dynasties and franchises around 7-10 user-controlled teams—it just feels more immersive to experience the full league landscape and see how different squads evolve over time. I love the offline depth these modes offer, and that's why I've stuck with this approach faithfully.
With that in mind, here are a few features I'd love to see added to Madden NFL 27 and EA Sports College Football 27 to make long-term saves even more rewarding:
- Archived Stats and Seasons: Keep a historical archive of past seasons' stats and results league-wide. It would be amazing to pull up how your team fared against rivals in previous years without starting from scratch—adding that layer of legacy and rivalry depth that we're missing right now.
- Player Game Logs Across Careers: Archive individual player game logs indefinitely, even after they graduate (in College Football) or get drafted/move teams (in Madden). This way, you could track a player's full career arc, from college standout to NFL veteran, without losing that personal history.
- Stat-Driven Attribute Progression: Tie overall rating boosts directly to in-season performance stats. For example, if a 67 OVR WR explodes for 100 receptions and 1,600 yards, give them a significant bump—like +20 OVR—to reflect their breakout. This should apply across the board in Madden Franchise, and extend to College Football Dynasty for Power 5 conferences, rewarding QBs, RBs, WRs, or any position that has a monster year with realistic progression.
- WR Catching Styles: Introduce body-catcher, hands-catcher, or balanced archetypes for wide receivers in both games, similar to the emphasis on QB and RB styles. This would revolutionize animations—not every WR catches the same way, so tailoring routes, contested catches, and drops to their style could make the passing game feel more dynamic and true-to-life.
