Game will not launch, problem with ea app communicating with steam

A lot of people are having the same problem. I'm sure they'll have a fix for this this week. It's mainly an issue related to the link from steam towards the EA launcher (who would've guessed). Another guy refunded the game and bought it again through the EA store and he was able to play. 

Been having this same exact issue except with launching Battlefield 2042 from Steam since the 3.2 Update in late January. Also been combing through multiple threads searching for a fix only to be met with the same stale response of "reinstalling/running Steam, the game and the EA app as admin" (as if that wasn't already common sense), "performing a clean boot" or even "disabling antivirus". All of which had no affect on the problem. It's been nearly a month with no real solution or support but I guess that's typical considering who we're dealing with.

Whenever I try to launch the game, it opens a small Link2EA window, after that I can see the game in my Task Manager but after a few seconds it disappears and the EA App opens again. I effectively never see the game open in my Taskbar or in a Window.

I've done all the troubleshooting steps I could find on the Internet,

-Unlinked and linked my EA and Steam account again

-Tried to launch the game with and without Administrator mode

-Deleted the Trial.exe from my game folder

-Disabled fullscreen optimizations

-Cleared the cache of Steam and EA App

-Tried it through Origin (Which doesn't work, because it prompts me to download EA App)

-Updated all my drivers and ensured that Windows is up-to-date

-Reinstalled the game in each of my HDDs and SSDs

-Clean booted my system

-Deleted OneDrive from my system

-Reinstalled the EA App multiple times

-Updated DirectX and Visual C

I really don't know what to do anymore. I've been troubleshooting since the game released and nothing worked for me

Hi @Cata48 To confirm have you linked your EA and Steam accounts? Also to check do you have the EA App installed?

@EA_Illium Yes I have linked EA and Steam as well as downloaded the EA App. I have done everything you guys said to have done as well as what the community has brought forward and nothing has worked. It seems to me it's an error with the link2ea function or something within the ea app or game not correctly launching wild hearts and connecting with steam when launched through steam. Vise versa if trying to launch through the ea app if the game is bought through steam.

@EA_Illium I just found something as well when trying to use origin to play wildhearts when looking through the programdata/origin/logs. It shows .html file when clicked on loads to google and shows code statement saying "Could not find the getTableData request function in loaded library. This only affects Denuvo v2 and has no effect when using a newer version ." Then next line of code ends with the statement "license signature is good." I don't know if that has to do with trying to use origins even though it prompts you to upgrade to the ea app or if its the game but just thought I might throw that out there to see if you or anybody else can shed some insight. 

is it fixed now? because I am also having the same problem and I am so frustrated now, its been 2 days since this happened to me and I HATE it. If yours is fixed now please please tell me what you did to fix this problem. Thankyou

Any other advice? It's been months. Same issue with titanfall 2 here.

We have recently released an update to Wild Hearts and have made various updates to the EA App. I wanted to confirm with everyone in this thread if you were still running into this issue?

Would it be possible to get more information on this?

• PSN ID/Gamertag:
• Are you getting an error message?
• Have you recently linked or unlinked accounts?
• Does any other account on the device have this issue? 
• Where you able to play previously or have you made in progress in Wild Hearts?
• If on PC, please share a DxDiag and an EA app Error ID

We can use this information, to help make the team aware of the issue and to further investigate.
