Split Fiction Crashing on Xbox Series X

I’m wondering if this is a problem with me or if anyone else is experiencing the same issue when playing the game locally. I’m running version 1.3.0.0, and the game keeps crashing. Sometimes, it’s just the game, but there have been quite a few instances where the entire Xbox crashes. I’ve tried hard rebooting the Xbox, ensuring that both the Xbox and the game are on the latest version, disabling and re-enabling the network, logging in and out of my EA account, reinstalling the game, and even switching the language. None of these solutions have seemed to help. The crashes can occur at any point during gameplay or cutscenes.

Any advice on how to obtain the error code from Xbox if there’s one? From my playing experience the game simply crashed without any information or error showing, not to mention sometimes the entire console crashes.

There is no error code. Ours crashed and erased alllll of our progress. We have sunk hours into the game and it’s all gone. What is going on?

  • This is happening for me too. Game is completely unplayable. Cab pulls up and the screen goes black. Then the console crashes

    Hey, Folks

For those on Xbox, we need to get error codes and messages from you!

The Xbox Series X stores error codes on the console!

You can find them by navigating to the "Settings" menu, then "General," and finally "Troubleshoot."

If you have error codes on your console, snag a screenshot of those errors and post them here and tag me so I see it.

    Thanks!

An update on my case: with the latest update (1.4.0.0), the game still crashes constantly. However, I borrowed a friend’s Xbox Series X and moved my storage expansion card (where the game is installed) to their console. With the same game disc, I was able to play the game for several hours without crashing. In my case it’s likely a hardware issue, but I have no idea why only Split Fiction is crashing but not any other game.
