It Takes Two - Achievements not unlocking

So i've been playing it takes two with a friend on Steam, initially my friend played via the Friend Pass but we both want achievements. So they purchase the game and still neither of us are getting achievements even though we most definitely are meeting the criteria for them.

We've tried reinstall, verifying game cache and deleting any local data. Nothing has worked so far.
