Can’t Buy EA Play Pro Subscription – Payment Always Fails

I’ve been trying to subscribe to EA Play Pro for days now and EA just won’t let me.

First, I couldn’t even link my credit card for 3 days straight. When I finally got that sorted and tried to purchase the subscription, I got this error:

"That didn’t work, let’s try again. If the problem persists you may want to use a different payment method or try again later."

Well, the problem definitely persists. I’ve tried multiple times, waited, retried — same thing every time.

I contacted EA support twice already, and absolutely nothing has been done to fix this. I just want to pay for the subscription and play, but EA’s system won’t even let me give them money.

Has anyone else run into this? Is there any actual fix, or am I stuck waiting forever while support does nothing?

Hi idk whether you found a solution but what i did was purchase ea play then upgrade to ea play pro, you get the refund for Ea play so cost same amount. Make sure you do it through app or website not on steam or anything

Having this problem now. I already have standard thru Game Pass. EA definitely charged my card although it says payment failed.

I had the same issue yesterday, I reinstalled the EA app today and it worked, finally got the ea play pro purchase.

Its any card presumed to be prepaid, ie* cash app, daily pay, and others . Can confirm venmo works
