EA play play game with friends

I'm trying to understand how playing with friends on multiplayer might work.

Say my friend e.g. bought a copy of BFV and plays multiplayer through origin EA using that license.

If subscribe to EA Play (e.g. through taking out an Xbox Game Pass), can I and my friend play BFV in games together (assuming where in the same country)?

Is the server pool the same for both groups, or is there segmentation?

Is it the same setup, broadly speaking, in all countries / regions, or does the arrangement vary by country / region?
